The Supervisory Board primarily monitors and supervises the Company’s business operations, long-term interests, the implementation of its strategy as well increasing its economic performance in a socially responsible way. Members of the Supervisory Board perform their supervisory roles autonomously and independently, and with due diligence.
Tomaž Butina holds a degree from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science in Ljubljana, with the title of his graduation thesis being Organisation of an Investment Fund Management Company in Terms of IT Support.
Up to 1990 he worked on the development of computer-controlled machines. In 1991 he co-founded PM&A, a company in which he held the office of director and stock broker. At the end of 1991, he established the first Slovenian mutual fund, to be later renamed Galileo. Two years later, he co-established an investment fund management company Betainvest in accordance with the then new legislation, to which the management of the Galileo fund was transferred. He was in charge of Betainvest until 1996, when the management of what was by then the largest Slovenian mutual fund was transferred to Kmečka družba (later KD). In the 1996–2000 period, he was in charge of the Fistro real estate company, which among others developed Karlovško predmestje, an estate of 55 residential houses. As a consultant, he cooperated with the Ljubljana Entrepreneurial Centre in a guarantee fund project.
He has been a member or president of Supervisory Boards of Final d. d., Jata d. d., Gradis IPGI d. d., KD ID d. d., KD d. d., KD Življenje d. d., KD Skladi d. o. o. and Adriatic Slovenica d. d., and a member of the Management Board of KD Banka d. d.
He is currently a member of the Management Boards of KD Group d. d. and KD d. d., a member of the Supervisory Board of Adriatic Slovenica d. d., and Director of Avra d. o. o. and Dermatologija Bartenjev – Rogl d. o. o. He also engages in humanitarian activities as a member of the oldest Slovenian Lions Club based in Ljubljana.
Matija Šenk holds a university degree in Mathematics and is a leading expert in life insurance in Slovenia, an eminent international speaker at insurance conferences, and a trainer at the Gea College. He has held a number of senior management positions in several companies within the KD Group: he was a member and later President of the Management Board of Slovenica, a member of the Management Board of Adriatic Slovenica, a long-standing President of the Management Board of KD Life, and an Executive Director of KD Group. He was appointed a member of the Management Board of Adriatic Slovenica on 6 November 2013. He is also a member of numerous insurance organisations and associations as well as an author and co-author of books and papers on insurance.
Jure Kvaternik holds a university degree in Economics, and specialises in banking and finance. He has more than 15 years of experience in accounting, and was awarded the title of Certified Accountant in 2010. Prior to working for the KD Group, he was chief accountant of the company Elan d. d., and joined the Group in 2008 as Assistant to the Executive Director for Finance, Accounting and Controlling. He has held several senior positions in KD Group companies, including Chairman of the Supervisory Board and the Audit Committee of the companies KD LIfe and Adriatic Slovenica d. d. Since January 2016 he has been Executive Director in KD Group as Chief Financial Officer for mandate until 16. 11. 2017. He is also a member of the Supervisory Board of foundation AS Fundacija.
